Community

Folks come to Center activities from as far North as Santa Rosa, as far South as San Jose and as far East as the Sacramento area. We are made up of people from different walks of life, career paths, ethnicities and family types. Community members are also from many different religious faiths, as well as are of no religious faith. Members retain their beliefs and connection to their faiths as they wish. Many see their connection with Meher Baba as an enrichment of their current spiritual and religious life. Center activities vary. Some meetings consist of guest speakers (many of whom met Meher Baba). Other meetings have devotional music by local and visiting musicians. Sometimes films are shown with footage of Meher Baba and we have film nights, showing films that have spiritual themes. There are also Sunday afternoon small conversation or support groups where we have conversations about Meher Baba’s messages and how they relate to our lives in light of the complex world around us. We always celebrate Meher Baba’s birthday and Amartithi (passing) with more elaborate events, often at larger venues. Many community meetings are held at member’s homes as well (see calendar for more information about upcoming meetings). Upstairs we have a bookstore and lending library as well as a beautiful devotional or contemplation room. Some people have been involved in the local Baba group for over thirty years. Others have heard of Baba much more recently. All share an interest in His Presence and messages. We are fortunate to have this lovely center in which to come together.
